Fortitudo latuit ⟨in⟩ mente divina,
Talem mortem subiit[i] vitae medicina,
Heu, gloriae corona iacuit in spina.

The strength hid in the mind of God,
such a death suffered (our) life’s medicine,
alas, the crown of glory lay thrown down.
